A few plain commitments about how this site gets written.
Written and tested by one person
Everything here is written and edited by Marissa Duplantis. I may use software to research, check spelling or tidy a draft, but the testing, the opinions and the judgment are mine and carry my name.
Tested before published
A routine gets used in my own house, usually for several weeks, before it becomes an article. If I have only read about a method rather than done it, the piece says so.
Honest by default
No manufactured enthusiasm. Overrated is written as overrated. If a system only holds up when one tidy person lives alone, that limitation goes in the article, not in a footnote.
Independence
Commercial relationships, described in the affiliate disclosure, never decide what is recommended or how warmly. Nobody outside this house sees an article before it is published.
Updates and corrections
Articles get revised when I learn something better, and the last updated date on the page reflects that. If something here is wrong, tell me at [email protected] and I will fix it and say what changed.
Safety
Small fixes on this site stay at the level of a homeowner with a screwdriver. Anything involving gas, structural work or a service panel should go to a licensed tradesperson, and the articles say that where it applies.
